Sorry about not updating the rest of yesterdays trip sooner, I was exhausted last night, and I was busy all day. As it is I'm currently sitting in my hotel room with and beer and some candy doing this, so I'm super relaxed at the moment. So without further ado, the rest of the tour yesterday around Tokyo.
So this is the beginning of my excursion into the Imperial Palace East Garden. We had to cross a bridge over what use to be a moat.
The reverse side of the first gate you enter.
The next gate to go through.
Some kind of dragon/fish/demon thing statue. Very cool.
And now for the walking to the garden.
Passed by what used to be a guardhouse for the palace. Further on we went by a dojo that had guards/officers practicing. Strictly no photos, though the big walls stopped that anyway.
And then we made it to the rest area where we were allowed to go do our own thing for a bit, so travelling I did.
A list of the flowers around the area of the rest area.
Bamboo.
And the gardens.
Nice little fountain I found off the path.
The carp were cool.
Me at a waterfall on the other side of the lake in the main garden area.
Map of the area.
And then we left the gardens, but not before spotting this swan.
And that was our tour of the Imperial Palace East Gardens. Very beautiful. Could probably spend a bit more time in there, but we had places to be, so off we then went to Asakusa Sensoji Temple.
