On Tuesday I went to Shibuya, just to see. Shibuya is like the youth culture area of Tokyo. A lot of trends originate from here. I went on a Tuesday, which in hindsight was probably not the best day to go as the crowd was mostly comprised of workers. I imagine that on the weekend if I had of gone here instead of to Ueno there would have been much more to see visually, but I can't be certain of that. Anyway, it was still interesting to see the area and I have a hew photos to show of it.
So the first thing I did after stepping out of the station was go in search of Hachiko. Hachiko is a statue of a dog, and if you want to learn more about this dog you can go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hachik%C5%8D
I didn't exactly get the best photos ever, and then ofcourse it was raining, so I've still got to go through some to fix them a little.
Here I'm at the central crossing which is pretty close to the train station and the statue. All the buildings around the area here are just full of stuff.
After I had walked around briefly (once again I should have come here on the weekend cause there was nothing to see really) and gotten something to eat I went back to the station. This was some artwork in one of the main areas of the station.
And this is the crossing in action. Everyone had an umbrella today :) Even me.
Some more artwork in the station.
And this display.
And that covered Tuesday, cause after all that I went back to the hotel to try and get some z's, and then later that night I planned to go to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office where on the 45th floor of both buildings is a observation deck. It was raining too much though so after making it to the main Ginza station I called it quits and went back to the hotel. There was just too much cloud cover to get any decent shots :(
